Fundraising: mistakes to avoid when talking to investors
Likhona, Fellow, South Africa: Bilha provided invaluable insights into the fundraising process, stressing the importance of accurately assessing one’s value when applying for grants. Her emphasis on investors seeking teachable individuals rather than perfect businesses was enlightening. Moreover, her advice to research and target investors aligned with my own experiences, emphasizing the significance of finding investors who align with one’s vision and values. Lastly, her reminder that time is a valuable resource, especially in the absence of financial capital, underscored the importance of utilizing time effectively.
Trisia, Fellow, India: Bilha’s session was an open discussion and there were quite a few experts in our group sharing their insights. The best part was that everyone had an equal opportunity to discuss their challenges and wins. More than an information session it was an open discussion space that made all of us free to ask questions and learn from various instances within a short span.
